MEDUSA QUARTET in concert at Lovin’ Cup

Welcoming back MEDUSA QUARTET after their very well-received Lovin’ Cup debut last year! This “reimagined” folk string quartet features traditional music from all over the world: Celtic, bluegrass, southern old-time, Turkish, Middle Eastern, French, and more, blended seamlessly with original tunes. All stringed instruments but some you may never have heard before: the Plock fiddle, suka, lyra, and nyckelharpa, giving the band a unique sound among folk artists! Medusa Quartet is: Marta Solek (suka, Plock fiddle, lyra, cello), Lea Kirstein (cello, viola), Geo Hathaway (fiddle, viola, nyckelharpa), and for their American tours, Rochester’s own Fiddle Witch, Alyssa Rodriguez (nyckelharpa, fiddle). Local musicians, please note! On Thursday Nov 5, the night after the Lovin’ Cup show, Medusa will be leading an open Celtic jam! 7-8:30 pm at Harmony House, 58 E Main St in Webster. Free snacks, cash bar, all acoustic instruments welcome. Spectators encouraged too!
